Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are? by Frans de Waal. I read this book a few years ago and enjoyed it a lot. It’s full of fascinating stories about animal intelligence and raises a lot of questions about how we have previously viewed and studied animal behavior.

Something borrowed, something true by Ken Ramirez. Ken shares some of his favorite sayings, the ones he finds himself repeating to students again and again.

There are a number of new books and online courses that can help you learn more about using clicker training or positive reinforcement with horses. I no longer have time to read everything new that comes out, but I encourage you to check them out and see if there is one that will help deepen your understanding of how horses learn and how we can teach them with positive reinforcement.
